Returns and Refunds

Please note that all Jill's jewellery is hand-crafted which gives it a unique characteristic charm. She does not intend for her jewellery to look mass produced and as she takes great pride and care in her work, it can mean that individual items may vary slightly from the shop picture.

It has never happened yet, but if you feel you are unhappy with your jewellery, then please return the item to Serendipity asap. 

Giving a reason for a return - Customers do not need to give a reason for returning goods, but Serendipity would appreciate a note to explain the reason for return, especially if it would help improve the future design of the item.

Returns - There is a cooling-off period of 14 calendar days during which you may cancel your order. This starts from the date of purchase. If you wish to cancel your order, you should do so within 14 days of ordering.

Simply return the item in its original packaging and carefully wrapped in its original saleable condition. There will be no quibble.

Returns Postage  

a) Consumers are to bear the cost of returning goods after they change their mind. To obtain a refund for goods, the customer must retain a receipt of postage for the returning item. Your payment will be refunded within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

b) Faulty? Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if an item proves to be faulty, then the customer has up to 30 days to return the goods and Serendipity will bear the full cost of returning the goods. 

Lifetime Guarantee - After 30 days, your Jewellery will be repaired free of charge. However, the customer will pay the cost of the postage. 

Bespoke items -  the right to cancel or change your mind does not apply to customised items of jewellery. Only if your item proves to be faulty, do you have the same rights to return the goods within 30 days for a full refund - or a repair if you wish.

How long will my order take?

Jewellery items from the shop should arrive 2-3 days after you have ordered. You will receive a confirmation e-mail for your order within 24 hours. Customised items will naturally take longer and you will be advised of this. If delivery time is crucial, please contact Serendipity to ask what is possible before you order, so that arrangements can be made for next day delivery at extra cost to the customer.

Gift

Remember to specify a different address for delivery during checkout if you wish the item to be delivered directly to the recipient. If it is a gift, Serendipity can send the billing details to you separately. Jill is happy to include a card with a message from you to the recipient if you let her know via a message on the Contact Form when ordering.

If you would like the jewellery to be presented beautifully in one of Serendipity's boxes, then please tick this at Checkout.

Out Of Stock

If you see something on the site that is marked out of stock, then send Serendipity a message via the Contact Form and explain. If it has been sold, Jill should be able to make you another one, providing the items are still in stock. There may be a slight variation from the picture.

If you would like a different stone setting in a piece of jewellery, then this will need ordering so will obviously take longer. Just send Jill a message via the Contact Form.

Payment

Payment is due immediately on ordering. Serendipity accepts payments by either PayPal, credit or debit cards. To pay by credit/debit card, click on the link next to the Don't have a Paypal account? Continue Checkout and then enter your card details as usual. 

If you are paying by PayPal, payments can made securely through PayPal by clicking on on the PayPal option at Checkout.

Deliveries

All items in the shop, that are not marked Out Of Stock, are currently in stock & can be shipped immediately. Most items arrive with you within 2 days of ordering if you live in the UK. Items will be posted within a couple of days of purchase apart from commissions, bespoke items and items requiring personal messages. In case of the latter, you will be advised personally as to posting times. 

All UK purchases will be posted via Royal Mail first class delivery. 

If you wish to choose Recorded Delivery, then please tick this at the checkout. 

All items for posting are well protected in a padded envelope so they arrive with you in perfect condition. If you are buying a gift and wish to include a Serendipity Gift box with display card, remember tick this at Checkout.

Postage

The padded envelope is classed by Royal Mail as a small package.

International Tracked & Signed for - fully tracked with signature on delivery and online confirmation.

Buyer Responsibilities

The spellings for a message or for a customised order remain the responsibility of the customer. Please ensure the spellings are correct. 

Instructions for bespoke pieces must be given in written form by the customer after discussion with Jill.

Please note that import/custom charges and VAT charges are not the responsibility of Serendipity Jewellery. The buyer is responsible for any import or custom duty taxes imposed by their own country. 


Lifetiime Guarantee

All items you order from Serendipity Jewellery come with a lifetime's guarantee so you can rest assured if your favourite piece of Serendipity jewellery gets damaged or breaks somehow, that it can be repaired. Just contact Serendipity via the Contact Form to let Jill know the problem and then pop it in the post for her to repair.

Additional Information

I would be pleased to be able to personalise your order so let me know if there is anything you see in the shop that you would like in a different colour, design or with a different message. 

If you would like a customised jewellery piece designing and making for someone special, then please contact Serendipity and it can be discussed.  

Jill hopes that you are pleased with your jewellery. If there is anything at all that you are not happy with, then please let Jill know via the Contact Form and give her a chance to sort it out to your full satisfaction. 

It is most important to Jill that her customers are very happy with both the jewellery and customer service.

With your "Lifetime Guarantee" you can rest assured that if you accidentally bend, break or spoil your jewellery somehow, that it will be fixed free of charge for you no matter how long it is since you purchased the jewellery.
